Religious Garden Statues Reflect The Deepest Part of Our Souls

Did you ever wonder why people put religious garden statues in their yards?  If you aren’t a spiritual person, it can seem strange but to many believers, it’s normal.  People all over the world gather at shrines to connect with their spiritual side.  It’s not uncommon for them to contain small figurines.  In America, our town centers seem to have a church on every corner and many of them contain statues.  I guess that doesn’t make us so different after all.  But that still doesn’t answer our first question.

Even though churches are made up of a group of people, the spiritual experience is a very personal thing.  Bringing a statue home to your yard can make you feel like your home is blessed and that you are instilling a measure of peace along with the statue.  Some times people put statues in their front yard as a form of witness to show that their life is connected with the subject of the statue.

When the housing market began to implode, many people were desperate to sell their homes.  They tried everything they knew to keep from facing foreclosure and there was a kind of urban legend connected to St. Joseph statues.  Supposedly you bury the St. Joseph statue in your yard with prayer as a symbol that you are trusting God to sell your house.  There is a site on the internet with an affiliate program to sell St. Joseph statue kits but in all good conscience, I can’t represent them.  God is able to hear your prayers whether you bury a statue or not.  I’m more in favor of keeping my statues where I can enjoy them and that isn’t buried in the backyard.

When I was young we used to walk through a cemetary on our way to the public pool.  There were a few statues there, a little lamb on a baby’s grave, a young lady and an angel.  It was a quiet shady walk and we really liked the statues.

I have noticed that a lot of people like to put angel statues in their yards.  It’s kind of fun to remember that these heavenly guardians are on the job.  If you place one in your front yard, it will remind you to look at the bigger picture.  Maybe a religious garden statue will help you leave the stresses of your day there with your garden angel before you greet your family.

Our Outdoor Garden Angel Statues page and the Jesus and Madonna Statues page are only a few of the many religious statues you can find at the Garden Statue Shop.  If you click on any of the pictures on those pages, you can easily search for more options.
