Outdoor Statues are wonderful accents in your landscape but you do have to watch what you buy. An indoor statue won’t necessarily last in your garden. I had a recent email from a reader who had bought an outdoor statue that was disappointing. It looked great when she bought it but later began to fall apart and actually had worms living in it and eating it. (She didn’t say what kind of worms.)
There wasn’t much I could do for her except urge her to try to get her money back, or at least a replacement, from the dealer she bought it from. If she got it in a flea market or a yard sale, that wasn’t an option. Outdoor Statues take a beating from the elements. If the sun isn’t attacking their finish, it’s cold or even sand being blown against them. Please buy your statue from a reputable source that stands behind their product. Make sure you check out their guarantee up front and if possible, get recommendations from other customers.
As you can tell, I’m passionate about these outdoor statues and I want to stir others to appreciate them as well. I want you to find one that makes you feel good every time you see it. That’s a true garden accent.
