Outdoor Garden Statues are the finishing touch to your landscape but they are most effective when you plan for them from the beginning. What? You don’t have a garden plan?
Have you ever visited someone’s yard and come away thinking that it looked messy? Maybe it wasn’t what they did as much as how they did it. Without a garden plan, you are hoping for great results when the truth is, after much work, you might be disappointed. When I talk about a garden plan, I’m not saying that each and every flower has to be planned in advance. Some people do it that way but I would rather be more general.
- You need to think about the theme of your garden. If you want a calm meditation garden, those cute garden dwarfs might not be the best choice. That’s only one consideration.
- Consider the scale of your garden. Just how big is your ground area and how tall is what you are working with. If your statue is a little small, raising it on a pedestal base can make all the difference.
- You also might want to consider colors. Certain plants look great contrasted with other ones. While dealing with that, you have to consider their light and water requirements.
If you take time to think about these things now, you will know exactly what you are looking for when you go to your landscape nursery this spring. A good article to help you figure out how to approach all this is Landscaping Ideas for the Do It Yourself Gardner.
A little planning now will pay off this summer!
