There’s nothing minor about the dog statues you choose for your home or garden. Once your heart has bonded with one of our furry friends you know how much they become a part of your life. Choosing the right statue means remembering that favored friend long after they are gone.
I have known people who bought a dog statue that resembled their pet and took pictures of the two of them together. It made the statue even more precious when it was all that remained. On that note, do you know someone who now lives in a nursing home or limited care facility? They can’t have a dog where they are, but might like a dog statue for their room. This works especially well if they were loyal to a particular breed and makes a wonderful gift.
I like the idea of placing an outdoor dog statue at the base of a bush or in one of the spots my own dogs used to prefer. It makes me feel good to see them as I enjoy my yard and my grandchildren have adopted them as well.
If a move is in your future, taking your outdoor dog statue along to your new yard helps it to feel like home. Which is particularly important if this is the first move your children have experienced. Remember, you may have bought your statue for you but your whole family will enjoy it.
